Iwangimyeon Dahong Manhwa

Iwangimyeon Dahong Manhwa

Lee Sang-eun
From 2.p.mpchdn (http://2.p.mpcdn.net/26205/451490/1.jpg)
  • Although it only just started releasing chapters last March and so far only one English translated chapter, I can already feel like this is going to be a great manga
    • It's art is nothing to complain about (yet..)
    • And it's storyline is so far keeping me very interested and wondering what's going to happen next.
  • Storyline: About a girl, Da-Hong, who is willing to become a maid because of her gratefulness to her "mother" and happened to meet a guy, Woo-jin, who actually lives in the house she's going to be working in...

Hopefully, this manhwa turns out well ^_^ and tell me what you think of this manhwa from this first chapter!

Random K-Drama

Random K-Drama Review :P

I'm asian ethically myself, and even though the culture, the language, the history-almost everything- is quite different from one country to the other. I think it makes some sort of sense to clump Japanese, Korean, and Chinese music/drama/movies together, just because they are all near to each other REGIONALLY. I know we all have different cultures XD but you'll find Korean K-pop and K-drama in China and Japan and Japanese comics in China and so on.

So without further ado, I'm going to introduce my first recommendation for Korean Drama:

Sly and Single Again / Cunning Single Lady / 앙큼한 돌싱녀

From wiki.d-addicts

Cast:

Lee Min Jung as Na Ae Ra
Joo Sang Wook as Cha Jung Woo

Notable Others:
INFINITE's L as CEO Cha's secretary

About:

Na Ae Ra divorced from Cha Jung Woo because they were bankrupt because Jung Woo wanted to start up his own business and years later Jung Woo finally succeeds and becomes rich. Na Ae Ra decides to take revenge for not giving her any credit by working in his company............ (not to mention this enormous love square (I made that up it's not a word and idk how it would possibly make sense but it means that one person is loved/liked by two people)

Review 9/10

  • First Impressions: tbh it was: a stupid drama aimed at older women but I judged this drama too early, and I should have given it a little more time because the drama was only just getting ready the first four episodes
  • BUT
    • I started to watch it again at episode 4 all the way till the most recent one, only to find myself drenched in tears every single episode. This drama really touches my heart, even though I'm still a wimpy kid in high school, I felt the sadness and happiness Na Ae Ra and Cha Jung Woo felt. Although I'm usually the first one tearing up in any kind of sad movie, this made me brawl. I cried so much XD.
    • Not to mention that the main actors are also doing a great job in acting and the screenwriters did a even better job of making the drama feel realistic as it possibly could be given the weird situation. (Trying really hard not to spoil anything :P)

Welp, I hope you all will watch and enjoy this drama, I personally really enjoyed it being one of the most emotional dramas I've ever watched.

Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen

Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen

Ogura Akane

[Completed]
From: myanimelist

Art:
  • To be extremely fair, it's not bad BUT:
    • Dresses loook REALLY weird sometimes it looks like tights on an entire body
    • Hair color = race  confuses me a little.. but I guess it's fair play but I think clothing (they have scarfs over them kind of like Hijabs though)
  • The art didn't bother me too much so it's a 7.5/10
Story:
  • The story is its strongest point: A cute & funny story of a princess and prince who were forced to get married to calm the war between their two countries.
  • Unlike most of these types of stories, there is PROCESSION something that almost NEVER happens in these types of stories and it isn't too speed up nor too slow
  • Although the plot is great, I really dislike the fact that they introduce the story multiple times after the story begins, it isn't really necessary
  • Overall Score: 8/10

I hope everyone will enjoy this manga, I quite liked it.
Was in Tokyo the last week :D so there wasn't anything new sorryies XD

Samurai High School

Samurai High School

Kashiwaba Hiro

Art:
  • Good arts although there was some character are like...... >.<
Story:
  • Wouldn't really consider this shojo, because there's absolutely, okay there was some but that's not the focus
  • Gender bender story of a pair of twins (girl and guy) who go to a school where only guys can be samurai and girls have to do all the home economics
Not the most awesome manga I've read, but I enjoyed quite a lot and it was interesting because the plot was actually something you could learn from (not like other shojoy mangas)

Fukumnekei Noise (author of Charming Junkie)

Fukumnekei Noise

Fukuyama Ryouko

Art:
  • Same author who wrote Charming Junkie
Story:
  • A girl, Nino, who loves to sing who loves a guy she was neighbors with in elementary school named Momo, who moved away. She then meets another guy, Yuzu,  who can compose music (he then also disappears).
  • Flash forward into her high school days, she still sings daily but then reunites with Yuzu and realizes that Momo became a famous composer/singer
Highly recommend to read this although there is only 11 chapter so far.

Sorry for the lateness I was on a school trip for a week :P

Stand Up! (Yamakawa Aiji)

Stand Up!

Yamakawa Aiji

From: Manga Park

About:

About a really tall girl (170cm) named Furuya Utako who also has ears that stand out in her first year of high school and a guy who sits next to her, Haruka Naoyuki.

My Ratings/Comments:

Somehow this manga reminds me of Hibi Chouchou...is that just me?
Originality: 8/10
I've heard of these kind of situations (where the girl is really tall) in real life, but this is the first time I've actually seen this in manga.
Plot: --
There's too little chapters (and it's supposed to be a series) to tell whether or not it'll be a good plot, but so far I've really liked it and I have high expectations for it. It is definitely one of ones where it makes me want to continue reading it.
Art: 9.5/10
There were some scenes where the drawing is a bit weird, but this is my kind of art. I liked Hibi Chouchou quite a bit (I keep thinking of that manga for some reason) too much and this is just right for me.

I just discovered this and this is now one of my newfound favorites.
[Only problem right now is that it isn't updating, BUT I think if there's more views there will be an update]

Volleyball Madness: Haikyuu!!

Haikyuu!!!

Furudate Haruichi

From MangaYes

About:

Even though Hinata Shouyou's 162, he wants to play volleyball and become the next "small giant." Like any other sport mangas, it involves impossible moves and determination. This manga is becoming increasing popular and I think it should be more popular (it's updates regularly too).

My Ratings:

For these mangas, plot, art (am I the only one who cares about the art when it's a sport manga) and originality, because it's all about the intenseness of the story. So I guess I'll have an intensity rating?
Intensity: 6/10
It's not intense, it's more like a story of how he becomes powerful rather than a whole bunch of fights, but don't be discouraged read it cause of this score!

Artist's Dream: Telling Through the Colors

Telling Through the Colors (Manhwa)

Artist: Zhena, Kim Hye Jin

Author: Yohan

From Animeshare

About:

Three different stories about three artists who are struggling to find their identity as an artist and are saved by the art of dye.

My Ratings:

Plot: 9/10
Each of the plots are well thought out and they each end in their own creative ways. They weren't stereotypical and weren't fairytale endings, and there was character development despite it being really short.
Art: 8/10
It's creative and it's style is a bit different from the typical korean style (not Hwang Mi-ri that's a totally different type of style)
Originality: 10/10
I think this calls for a 10 out of 10 mostly because these type of arts (dyeing) isn't something I've heard of and I'm an art student XD and the way they incorporate it into each story is so good that it's almost unnoticeable.

The Name's Way Too Long Sometimes..

Miseinen Dakedo Kodomo Janai

Minami Kanan

From MyAnimeList

About:

One of those stories where people get put into a weird situation. So the girl Karin is supposed to have an arranged marriage with a senpai at her school (Nao). At first, Karin thinks that he doesn't like her at her at all because he makes her sleep in separate room with her (they live together)...but..

My Ratings:

Plot: 4/8
So far is quite interesting, and it is similar and a bit different from the route these kind of stories usually go
Drawing: 8.5/10 (it's nice but it's the type where the guy is way more broad and tall..)
Originality: 2/10 Theres a ton of these stories..

A Love Story In Moist Rainy Days

 Mika Yamamori

(what kind of rain isn't moist???)

About/Why you should read it:

A One Shot story by the author of Hirunaka no Ryuusei (this can be found as a separate manga online or in Hirunaka no Ryuusei as a extra chapter), I don't think I should spoil it too much because it's just a one-shot, so..I'll just leave it at that drawings are similar to that of Hirunaka No Ryuusei if you liked her art and it's main concept is (obviously) about rain.

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Genre Terms:

Genre Terms:

(updated)

In case you're new to the manga community I've provided the meanings of the terms that use the romanized japanese:

Shojo:

  • Audience: younger girls
  • Usually: Love stories

Josei:

  •  Audience: women
  • Usually: the story should be more mature and have different themes then "love at first sight"

Shounen:

  • Audience: younger guys
  • Usually actiony stories

Seinen:

  • Audience: older guys
  • Usually actiony stories too, but more violent and mature...

Harem/Reverse Harem:

  • Basically a girl around like ten guys (doesn't matter the number as long as its not two, but then three would be a love triangle... so around four and up) or the other way around
    • Harem is with one guy
    • Reverse Harem is surprise surprise the other way around, one girl

Love Triangle/ Reverse Love Triangle:

---------
Below are words that I've come up with myself so that you can find more manga that are geared towards you~

Love Square:

Non-romance/nonromance:

  • Story plot isn't revolved around something romance related at all or the main character doesn't have a love life in the story

New Format: Godly Bells

I guess I should try out one recommendation per thingy and update more often??? XP Here it goes: (btw there isn't any spoilers)

Godly Bells by Lee Hye

Genre: Action,  Manhwa, Fictional World, Superpower, Nonromance

About:

A country's strength is according to how many Divine Bells they have. Myung-Joo is a country that has never received any and because of this is considered the weakest country. Then the current King of Myung-Joo (main character) suddenly receives a Divine Bell.................

Why you should read it:

  • Although it is action related, the main character himself is actually not that strong (physically, because of course he's still a king) and it doesn't involve the character getting super op
  • This is surprisingly not too graphic despite it being it about relations among the nobles and the fight for Divine Bells.
  •  Unlike other actiony manhwa (and manhua) we know very little about our main character which makes it more mysterious and intriguing

*Non-romance meaning that story plot isn't revolved around something romance related or the main character doesn't like/love anyone in the story

k welll that's it for now..
Do tell me if you like this format better :)
